Oh no not the digging time

Ah well the main winter seems over so there really is no excuse for avoiding the digging...

Did 3 hours the other weekend and got rather sore ankles !!

It has to be done as the spring garlic planting needs to happen soon ( and the potatoes are chitting away nicely in the spare room)

Getting the keys

We got a phone call from Bill to say the other plot holders were OK with us getting a plot and that he had a set of keys for us - these are for the main gate lock and for access to a couple of communal tool shead and storage shed. So he braved the traffic jams of Urmston and handed the keys over to Douglas on Tuesday 20th June 2006

The start!

We've been interested in getting an allotment for a few years now but illness and family problems meant we couldn't do much about it until recently.

There are quite a few allotment sites in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester, UK...and we rang most of them. Many had waiting lists...some very long waiting lists but 1 said come along we might have a plot available.

So we went down and met Bill who showed us around and then we waited...
